Millie's Liquid Low-Down
"This is undoubtedly one of the best vodkas I’ve ever tried. It’ll shut anyone up who thinks vodkas don’t have any character – because this one is brimming with it. It’s made using single estate winter wheat, and the raw material really comes through, with luscious notes of vanilla, chocolate and a milky character too. The biggest takeaway from this vodka though is its texture – beautifully creamy and mouth coating. It makes it a really strong contender for both spirit-forward cocktails as well as long drinks: main player and supporting cast."

This vodka will be a winner for anyone who enjoys their clear spirits with a bit of body. Straightaway you get vanilla essence, some milk or white chocolate, buttered toast and that lovely creamy mouthfeel. There is an element of milk bottle sweets about it which makes it warmingly nostalgic too, while remaining rather luxurious. |
|
This vodka is a really good all-rounder. It’s a bit of a conversation starter (its packaging is beautiful) and its British roots make it a popular choice for people who like to buy local too. It works really well in drinks like the Martini (all kinds) due to its texture but is also great in longer serves and even sweeter cocktails like White Russians as well. ‘Versatile’ is the word that springs to mind. |
|
This vodka would appeal to anyone who has a real appreciation of the locality and how British produce can be used to make flavourful and well-rounded spirits. It’s definitely a choice for someone who enjoys mixing with vodka as it is super versatile but also adds another dimension to spirit-forward cocktails. This is one of those talking-point spirits. Great to have on display at home for drinks parties or to take along to one too. |
How to Drink
|
I think this vodka makes a cracking base for most of the vodka-based classics, but it works especially well in a Cosmopolitan. Its texture adds another level of complexity and its vanilla notes make it the perfect bedfellow for the tartness of the cranberry and lime. |
|
I’d use large ice in your shaker to avoid any small pieces slipping into the final serve. |
|
I quite like those old-school Martini glasses (a la SATC), but a large coupe is also a contemporary touch of class for this rather nostalgic cocktail. |
|
I enjoy sipping this ice cold with really sharp or nutty cheeses. Its creamy texture is the perfect match for something tangy like a Manchego or some blue cheese. Even a nice crunchy, mature cheddar will make a fine ally. |

About Ramsbury
Ramsbury make smooth, creamy vodka and crisp, full-bodied gin in the heart of Wiltshire. This is where they make everything they possibly can from scratch on the Ramsbury Single Estate. From grain to glass, seed to spirit.
The single estate allows them to continue their farming roots, but it also enables them to do things in the most sustainable way possible. One of their aims is to reduce their waste and the impact they have on the surrounding nature.
Practising environmentally conscious farming, Ramsbury use the perfect blend of tradition and innovation to produce spirits with the highest quality and the lowest environmental impact.
Their copper stills use the steam generated by a bio-mass boiler fed by their own sustainable woodland. Once the distilling is complete, the spent grains are fed to the animals on the farms. The wastewater is cleaned by a wildlife-friendly reed bed system, which then feeds into their lake.
Millie Milliken adds: “I really love the closed-loop system which Ramsbury runs on. It uses its own produce and feeds back into the estate and the community, really championing locality and being a responsible business.”
